This 8-week course is offered to learn the fundamentals of contemporary botanical art in drawing and painting. It is an exacting and extremely rewarding form of art. The first three to four weeks instruction will be developing drawing skills and the last four or five in painting. The main focus will be on wild flora, fruit, fungi and more. No special skill is needed, except a fairly steady hand.
Twila Robar-DeCoste
Twila Robar-DeCoste SCA holds a BSc., M Sc and BEd. from Acadia University. She has been teaching people to draw and paint since 1987. She has illustrated numerous books and has participated in group and solo shows also since 1987. She is a juried and elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists(SCA) currently president of the Botanical Artists of Nova Scotia Association (BANSA), and a member of the Canadian Society of Botanical Artists, Associate member of Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and America Society of Botanical Artists.
