February 6 – March 6 (4 sessions, no class Feb. 20)

An experiential class designed to bring awareness to how music can enhance identity and self-awareness, support physical and cognitive states of well-being and health, and support socialization and connection to others. Through improvisation, music listening, composition and the sharing of meaningful music in our lives, we will explore how music deepens our experiences, alters our moods and energy levels and puts us in touch with a more creative and expressive self. (No musical experience necessary)

Heather Price

Music therapist, performer and community musician Dr. Heather Price, emphasizes the process of music-making as a creative and holistic activity. Through the use of improvisation and the experience of music as an in-the-moment form of self-expression and reflection, Heather encourages a dimension of self-awareness and communication in one’s musicianship at any level of proficiency. Heather is musical director of ourTunes, a community choir of approximately 100 choristers, and is also Director of Music at Wolfville Baptist Church where she encourages a joyful noise every Sunday.
