The field of Astronomy is continually discovering new phenomena in and developing new techniques to describe our universe. In this course we will describe some of the recent interesting astronomical measurements and theories as well as give some explanation of their meaning in understanding planets, stars, galaxies, space and their many components. Explanations will include background material in physics and astronomy at an elementary level.

A Physicist with special interest in Astronomy and Astrophysics. A life-long amateur astronomer with his own small observatory. Taught Astronomy at University of Connecticut and Acadia University. Contributes to the Observer Handbook (published by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.)
