Peter Martocchio | 15 seats available

Wednesdays, 10:00am - 12:00pm

January 22 – February 26  (6 sessions)

This course will use basic materials to teach paint application (washes, wet in wet, charging, and spattering), colour mixing, paint removal, and preservation of whites. The course will then show how to simplify shapes and values from a photo to construct a sound composition. The last four classes will give students the opportunity to apply all these methods and complete four paintings. Individual critiques will be conducted on each week's work.

A required materials list is below. Materials costs are not included in the course fee.

These supplies are available at ArtCan in Canning after Jan. 1.  The proprietor Ron Hayes who has the list, worked with me to keep the prices as low as possible.  Some people may already have supplies, but I strongly recommend that everyone use the same supplies at the outset of the class - including me.  This way everyone is starting on a level playing field.  I will be providing at no extra cost, masonite support boards, water containers, paper towels, and plastic plates to use as pallets.
